This new workshop will show users how to work with the new version of iView MediaPro. This day-long event will go over all aspects of the software and how it can be integrated in a professional photography workflow. This program will be based on the principles and practices outlined in my book, The DAM Book, Digital Asset Management for Photographers.
The morning will be a presentation of sound Digital Asset MAnagement techniques as implemented by iView MediaPro. I'll be using my own 30,000+ image catalog from 2005 as an example of an organized collection.
In the afternoon, you will have an opportunity to work with your own catalogs of images, putting the organizing principles into practice. You'll be walking out of the session with a more organized collection, and a clear understanding of what the software can offer you in both the short-term and long-term.
Topics covered include:
What's new in iView 3
Settings and Preferences
Color management issues
New tools in iView
Using the Lightbox
Web galleries and FTP
Slideshows and Movie export
Using Catalog Sets
Using controlled vocabulary
Integrating iView workflow with Adobe Bridge
Using droplets to automate iView and Photoshop
Moving information between applications
Backing up your work
Moving from iView 2.6 and earlier
Checking file integrity
Converting old files to DNG
Syncing information between catalogs
The cost for the Workshop is $200.
In the event that we don't get at least 6 participants per class session, you can choose to reschedule to another date, or receive a refund.
Call 301-933-2468 or email to reserve your spot now. If you can't make either of these sessions, but would like to be notified of future classes, drop me an email. Let me know your preference for day of the week if you have one.
Cancellation Policy: As a policy, we do not offer refunds is you do not show up for class. Based on our discretion and availability, we may offer a rescheduling opportunity.
Preparation for the Workshop
Workshop participants will bring their own laptop computers (I will have a limited number of computers available for those without their own laptops). Your computer should have the latest version of iView MediaPro (3.0.1).
If you have created catalogs in the past, bring them with you. If you are just starting to use iView, download the software, and make a catalog with a large number of images. This will give you something to work with in the afternoon.
