As image files are handled by different people in a production chain, they will pass through many different workflows. A single image may pass through the hands of a photographer, a production person, an art director or editor, a client and/or a stock agency. Each of these people may have their unique way of using the Labels and Ratings.

If an Art Director receives multiple images for a project, it is unlikely that the Labels and Stars will be set in a way that is useful to him. He may want to save the information represented by those settings, but want to clear the Ratings and Labels so that they are free for him to use. Rank and File enables you to embed the Label and Rating information permanently, at the same time that you are clearing the fields for your own use.

As you run Rank and File, you can choose to reset the Labels and/or Ratings to no value, so that you may use them as you like, without contamination of a previous users settings.

When you set Rank and File to clear either the Ratings or the Labels, the message turns to a warning.
